Search for job candidates by the type of course they have completed, industry cluster or geographic region and more.
The candidates you will see in Hire Access are developing their skills in training programs funded by your Local Workforce Development Board. Specifically, they are participants in the In-Home Learning program and the Access On Demand program. Program participants are called “Achievers.”
Achievers come from all walks of life. They are people who are unemployed and underemployed. Some have been laid off in widespread downsizing and off shoring. Some are re-entering the workforce after years of child rearing. Some have fallen upon hard times. All are in some type of life transition.
In-Home
Achievers in the In-Home program receive a computer and Internet access in their homes. Through these, Achievers participate in a customized online learning community, which includes a personal curriculum that relates to labor demand in their area.
Achievers earn ownership of their computer upon completion of their curriculum. Achievers who do not meet participation requirements are removed from the program, their computers picked up and their Internet access turned off.
When you review the credentials of In-Home Achievers, you know that you’re considering a person who:
- Is interested in learning new things
- Has the self-motivation to progress through a self-paced program
- Has made a commitment to a certain amount of work and has fulfilled it
- Has basic technological literacy, a computer at home and Internet access
On Demand
Achievers in the On Demand program are participating in the same online learning community as In-Home achievers, but they are doing it through a community technology center, a library, Texas Workforce Center, mobile unit or other central location.
When you review the credentials of On Demand Achievers, you know that you’re considering a person who:
- Has demonstrated the initiative to seek out technological literacy
- Has frequently surmounted significant barriers (distance, public transportation, childcare) to acquire those skills
- Is interested in learning new things
- Has the self-motivation to progress through a self-paced program, and
- Has basic technological and Internet literacy
