Business Access presented at the Sloan Center for Innovative Training and Workforce Development in Washington, D.C., Dec. 7-8. This meeting of distance learning pioneers featured legislative updates from House Education and Labor Committee members, a discussion with the National Governors Association about the political outlook for distance learning, and presentations of best practices from around the country. Business Access presented Texas' NEG initiatives for Hurricane Katrina and Rita evacuees. Attendees were significantly impressed with Texas' response to the crisis and the role distance learning played in helping people recover.
